This Business Lawyer Was Extremely Stagnated In His Career, 2 Full Years Without A Major Deal
A properly educated and well-qualified business lawyer had gone two full years without closing any major deal.
He had tried almost everything.
At one point, he started doing Pro Bono services, hoping that helping people would eventually open doors for him.
Nothing changed.
Things became so difficult that he eventually had to depend on his uncle for survival.
But when he came to me, I didn’t immediately tell him what to do.
We started with a deep diagnosis.
The goal was simple: before attempting to solve the problem, we needed to understand what was actually happening around his career.
During the diagnosis, I saw a young dark-skinned lady crying.
I asked him if he knew who she was.
He eventually identified her as his former girlfriend.
Then he told me something that completely changed the direction of the case.
He had gotten her pregnant.
After an argument, he had beaten her, causing her to lose the pregnancy. They eventually broke up, and according to what he told me, she had sworn that he would never succeed in life.
The diagnosis also brought up another issue.
He had a very short temper.
And when you are a lawyer whose income depends heavily on negotiation, relationships, client confidence and closing deals, uncontrolled anger can become a serious professional disadvantage.
So there appeared to be more than one issue affecting his progress.
There was what the diagnosis revealed spiritually, and there was also a behavioural pattern that was affecting his ability to maximize opportunities.
Once these things were identified, we could finally address them properly.
The spiritual issue was addressed, and we began working progressively on his temper.
Today, his situation is changing.
He has been able to pay the rent he owed for his chambers, pay his staff and take care of his responsibilities.
This is why diagnosis matters.
Sometimes the problem you are experiencing is only the visible symptom.
The real question is:
What is happening between where you are and where you are supposed to be?
Why does the opportunity disappear?
Why does the money refuse to stay?
Why does progress repeatedly stop?
Why does the same pattern keep returning?
Until you examine the pattern, you may keep treating the symptom.
It’s Well!
